Terms & Conditions of bookings

Cancellation and reschedule

I'll confirm the session by calling or texting your mobile the day before. The UK seas can be changeable, and the forecast is not always correct. I may cancel sessions due to poor weather, such as high winds or sea conditions, such as waves or poor visibility, making entering the water unsafe or spoiling the experience. We'll never go ahead with the session on the day if I feel that the conditions aren't suitable. Your safety and our safety come first. If I need to cancel, I'll prioritise your booking and reschedule for another suitable day or refund your costs.

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please let me know as soon as possible. I need 14 days' notice for cancellation by calling or texting 07762774900, or you will lose any deposit paid. Any notice less than 48 hours will be liable for the full payment.

Kit Suitability

Full kit hire is included in the cost. If you choose to use your own wetsuit or kit and don't have the recommended kit or yours isn't functioning, there will be an additional cost for arranging and hiring on the day. I allow a small amount of time for kit malfunctions and fixes during the session. Unfortunately, tides don't wait; delays can impact the experience and time in the water. Don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure about your own kit before the day so we can ensure the session runs smoothly and on time :-)

If you are considering using your own kit, please read this! (Please ask if you are unsure)

Snorkelling is a passive activity that involves having your head in the water for a long time. You get cold quicker than swimming or surfing. To feel comfortable and warm in the water snorkelling for at least 1 hour between Jun - Sep, I recommend using the following kit:-

  • Full-length wetsuit (5mm thick)

  • Full hood and gloves (5mm thick)

  • Boots or neoprene socks (3mm thick)

  • Snorkel & Mask (separates, NO full face masks)

  • Fins suitable for snorkelling or diving (NO long freediving fins)

Children

Children under 18 need a parent/guardian to complete the booking forms and sign the medical disclaimer. I ask that children always be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the session. For safety and discipline reasons, I ask that a parent/guardian take part if there are 2 or more children aged 12 or under in private groups. Children have to be aged 16 or over to take part in open group sessions; unless accompanied 1:1 by a parent/guardian, they can be aged 12 or over.

Younger children will need to wear buoyancy vests for their safety and mine. I ask that a parent/guardian be there for the safety briefings to help younger children change in and out of wetsuits and help me fit the kit on the beach.

If children under 12 are participating in a group session and want to get out of the water earlier, an adult will also need to get out to assist them in getting dried and changed. If a parent/guardian (not taking part) is available on the beach, this helps as they can assist any children who want to get out, meaning other group members can stay in the water longer. Younger children aged 10 or below typically tolerate cold water for 30-45 minutes.

Seasickness

Very few people suffer sea sickness whilst snorkelling on the surface due to the movement of the water. It's rare, so please don't think this will happen unless you are prone to severe sea or motion sickness. Please consider bringing anti-sickness pills with you to take before we go in the water. I can't provide these, but some recommend Kwells or Sturgeron 15. If you have any concerns, I suggest checking with a doctor or your pharmacy, especially if you take any other medication before your session.
